The judge; knowing their deepest of secrets, stopped them on their tracks. ‘Be the first to strike the poor woman, if you consider your deeds and heart to be right before God.’ ‘If any of you, feel worthy and blameless, then let him be the first to stone this lady.’ Jesus called out.
None dared pick a stone. Why? they were guilty of the same sin they accused the woman of. See, the society is quick to point fingers to see a speck on another’s eye, than to ask why themselves they stumble, due to the log on their own blinding eye!
Love is a beautiful thing, and its the utmost gift from God to mankind. Children too, are good, for they are a product of love (at least in most cases, save for rapes). But single-motherhood has been demonized, women have been called names. What of an instance that a love so pure was brewed? How about, he never fulfilled all those promises he made, and left the evidence of a broken promise, only for the woman to be termed as promiscuous?
What of trying to build something beautiful only to be duped?
What of giving it your all only to end up all by yourself?
Do you care to think of the lonely nights the single moms embrace, hoping someone would tell them he’ll be late from work, would ask them to prepare a hot meal, would surprise them with their favorite gifts and/or budget with them for the future? Instead she is mocked, and the ones who call are out for quick fixes.
But the judge still sits on the throne, He is the man who never thinks of anything contrary as to why you are making those late night calls, He never keep a clique of boys to share your plight with. When you tell him something that bugs you, he never equates you into a ‘desperado’. He never have restrictions on when and what time to call him, he never deletes your messages when he is about to get back to his MAIN.
But his promise is, when we genuinely knock his door, call unto him, then he gives sure answers. When you tell him, you love man B , but since he understands man B’s heart better than you do, He gives you man A coz, that’s the one for keeps.
In this month of love, I send my genuine loving thoughts to all the single mothers and fathers out there doing a wonderful job of raising the millennial babies. May God give you the wisdom on how best to do it. Happy Valentines.
